Police were called to a tragic discovery in GWR Park on Faringdon Road earlier today.
Just after 11am, officers were called to the scene where a woman’s body was found.
The woman, in her twenties, was sadly declared deceased. Police have informed her next of kin, and our thoughts go out to her family during this heart-wrenching time.
The park was temporarily closed for several hours while police conducted their investigation. The park has since reopened to the public.
Despite the early stages of the inquiry, police have moved to reassure the community that there is no wider risk to the public.
