Emergency services were called to The Pry, Purton, shortly before 4am on 21st June after reports of a serious fire at a residential property. Fire crews acted swiftly to tackle the blaze and managed to bring an adult male out of the property.
Sadly, despite the efforts of paramedics and firefighters at the scene, the man, believed to be in his 60s, was pronounced dead. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
A police spokesperson stated: “We will continue to work closely with our colleagues in the fire service to fully investigate the circumstances of this incident and to determine the cause of the fire.”
