Tom Faulkner Backs Local Fireworks Display with £1,000 Donation

The Swindon Lions are celebrating their latest community support donation from local furniture business Tom Faulkner. Faulkner, who has been making furniture by hand in Swindon for over 30 years, generously donated £1,000 to the Lions.

The donation will help fund the annual firework display, held at The Polo Ground in Old Town, which draws in crowds of between 4,000 and 6,000 eager spectators each year and helps raise vital funds for the local community.

Tom Faulkner, founder, and owner of the furniture business, reflected on the significance of giving back to the community.

“My team and I have been making furniture by hand in Swindon for over thirty years, and I am very fortunate to have created a thriving business on the site of Brunel’s Great Western Coachworks,” Faulkner shared. “I’m so delighted to be able to put something back into the local community.”

Acknowledging the generous donation, Richard High of Swindon Lions talked about the importance of such donations in helping to support the annual event. As costs escalate each year, the Lions rely on the generosity of local businesses like Faulkner’s to ensure the fireworks display remains a cherished tradition for years to come.

“We are determined to ensure the Lions firework event continues this year and into the future,” remarked Richard High.

“We thank Tom Faulkner for his generosity and would be delighted to hear from other local businesses who might be keen to be associated with the important and popular event.”

The donation from Tom Faulkner serves as a testament to the power of community solidarity and highlights the invaluable role of local businesses in fostering a vibrant and supportive environment for all residents of Swindon.

The Swindon Lions’ firework display will light up the sky on Saturday, 2nd November. If you’d like to support this fantastic event, get in touch! They’re looking for sponsors and stewards to help make this year’s display a roaring success.
