As of 8th May there were 3,021,162 spring boosters delivered and the NHS is inviting eligible people forward for their booster six months on from their initial booster in line with JCVI guidance.
In total, around 5.5 million people will be eligible for this dose by the end of June.
Head of the NHS Covid-19 Vaccination Programme, Steve Russell, said: “It is great that NHS staff have delivered more than three million spring boosters to those most vulnerable to covid, as the biggest and fastest vaccine drive in our history continues to provide people with additional protection from the virus.
“The latest phase of the vaccination effort continues at pace, with 130,000 people coming forward for their spring booster over the weekend alone – I would urge anyone yet to take up their extra boost to come forward as soon as possible to give you maximum protection from covid throughout the coming months.”
Spring booster jab appointments can be booked quickly and conveniently on the NHS website and people that can’t go online can book by phoning 119.
