As part of the ongoing Thames Water sewage upgrade work between Taw Hill and Westmead, part of the Western Flyer will close on Monday 23rd October for up to six weeks.
The full closure will be between the Mead Way subway and the current National Cycle Route 45 closure point to enable the current phase of work to replace the Haydon End rising main. During the closure, a signed diversion will be set up using the cycle path on Mead Way, along Westmead Drive and back up the path to rejoin the Western Flyer east of the current closure, and vice versa.
For safety reasons, please stick to the diversion routes and don’t try to cut through the work site.
The surface of the path south of the current closure point has been improved to accommodate the diversion, and temporary lighting will be provided.
