A 17-year-old was taken to hospital following a stabbing in Swindon last night.
Wiltshire Police were called to the Coate Water car park at around 6.50pm following a report of a disorder which had resulted in the teenage boy being injured.
He was taken to Great Western Hospital with injuries to his hand and his back. His condition is not life-threatening.
Det Sgt Justin Downes, from Swindon CID, said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“Although the incident was reported to us at 6.50pm, we believe the assault actually happened 20 minutes earlier, so we want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around that time to contact us.
“It is believed that immediately following the assault, a large group of people would have fled the area, both on foot and in vehicles, so may have caught people’s attention.”
Anyone with information should call Swindon CID on 101, quoting crime reference 54200022883. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
