Police were called by the ambulance service at around 6.30pm today as they were dealing with a teenage boy who had suffered a stab wound to the arm and has since been taken to Great Western Hospital.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Detective Sergeant Catherine Price, from Swindon CID, said: “Our enquiries are at a very early stage but we believe the victim was assaulted in the nearby play area in Wallis Drive.
“People living in the area are likely to see an increased police presence throughout the evening while we continue our investigation and we would urge any witnesses or anyone with information to call us.”
