Wiltshire Police have carried out a series of targeted patrols across Swindon over the past fortnight, resulting in multiple vehicle seizures, arrests and intelligence reports aimed at tackling antisocial behaviour and keeping communities safe.
Over the two-week period, officers seized:
-
Two illegal e-bikes and six e-scooters, including one linked to a Class A drug-dealing suspect
-
Five vehicles, for offences including no insurance and being used in crime
-
Seven vehicle stops, with five drivers reported for offences
Additional outcomes included:
-
21 stop-and-searches, generating 41 intelligence reports
-
Four arrests: one for drink driving, one for possession of Class A drugs, and two for possession with intent to supply
-
Three community resolutions issued
The patrols involved Swindon neighbourhood officers, the Local Policing Tasking Team (LPTT), the Gangs team and drone units. The operation also ran alongside Op Jetsom, Wiltshire Police’s ongoing crackdown on illegal e-bikes and e-scooters.
Inspector Joe Senior said:
“Over the past fortnight, we have been conducting targeted patrols focusing on the issues regularly raised to us by the community—illegal e-bikes and e-scooters, drug dealing, antisocial behaviour and driving offences. These patrols were shaped by local concerns and are part of our ongoing commitment to creating safer public spaces.”
Wiltshire Police continue to encourage the public to report concerns via 101, the police website, or 999 in emergencies.
