Swindon artisan doughnut maker Pipp & Co has expanded its growing plant-based range with the launch of a vegan banana and walnut loaf and four new vegan doughnut flavours.
The loaf, made with 45% real banana and nutritious walnuts, was trialled at the company’s Bristol café where it quickly became a customer favourite. It has now gone on general sale via wholesalers, stockists, caterers and the Pipp & Co website.
Co-founder Mario Evangelista said:
“Although we are best known for our doughnuts, we wanted to expand our range to showcase our diversity as a bakery. This includes our commitment to creating delicious plant-based products. The banana and walnut loaf was a hit in our café, and we’re delighted to make it widely available.”
The bakery has also unveiled three new vegan doughnut flavours for September – mango and Tajín, raspberry and basil, and rhubarb and ginger – joining existing favourites mixed berry and lemon and pistachio.
Since launching its first vegan doughnut in March, Pipp & Co has produced more than 20,600 vegan doughnuts in just three months, a clear sign that demand for plant-based treats is growing.
All Pipp & Co products are baked in Swindon and meet the company’s strict standards: no artificial additives, preservatives, hydrogenated fats, palm oils or GMOs.
The bakery also recently celebrated completing its first SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) audit, a nationally recognised food safety standard designed for small UK food and drink producers.

“This certification reassures our customers and partners that Pipp & Co is committed to best practices in food safety management. It also opens the door for us to grow with confidence and supply even more delicious products to the people who love them.”
Pipp & Co, which produces more than 25,000 doughnuts a week from its Swindon bakery, now offers 25 to 30 different products daily compared to just six two years ago. Alongside its Bristol café, the company has plans for future outlets in other locations.
