Swindon & Wiltshire Pride has announced that Nationwide Building Society will once again be the main sponsor for the highly anticipated 2023 Pride event.
Taking place on Saturday, 12th August 2023, Pride will be returning to Queens Park, promising an even bigger and better celebration compared to last year’s popular Pride Picnic.
Expressing gratitude for Nationwide Building Society’s continued support, Lee Hare, Sponsorship Manager, said, “We have fostered an amazing relationship with Nationwide Building Society over the past 15 years. It’s incredibly exciting to have them back on board as an organisation that shares our values and takes pride in being different. We hope this partnership will continue to flourish for many years to come.”

Phoenix Stewart, the community engagement officer, added, “After the success of last year’s event, which saw over 3000 attendees throughout the day, we are thrilled to be returning to Queen’s Park.
“We have a plethora of exciting plans ready for this summer, and it is through partnerships with Nationwide and our other sponsors that we can organise events that hold immense importance for the entire community.”
This year holds particular significance for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride as they celebrate their 15th anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, a week of Pride activities will be hosted by Swindon & Wiltshire Pride, spanning from Monday, 7th August, to Sunday, 13th August. The main Pride event will take place on Saturday, 12th August. For additional information, visit SwindonWiltshirePride.co.uk.
The festivities will commence with a vibrant and lively Pride march through Swindon town centre, commencing outside H&M and proceeding through town towards Regent Circus. The march will culminate in the main event at Queen’s Park at 12 pm.

Lou Flaviani, People Director and co-sponsor of Nationwide Building Society’s Proud Network, stated, “We are deeply committed to fostering inclusivity within Nationwide for both our colleagues and customers. As co-sponsor of Nationwide’s LGBTQ+ Network, I am thrilled to continue our support for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride as this year’s headline sponsors. Swindon is our home, and we take immense pride in being part of this significant event.”
Attendees can look forward to a multitude of attractions, including stalls, delectable food and drinks, live music, and surprise special guests yet to be revealed. Keep an eye out for further updates!
Adding to the excitement, the festival will welcome back the family circus zone, operated by local company Fandagoes. Additionally, a new addition to this year’s event is the chill-out zone, offering a tranquil space for those seeking a moment away from the main festivities.
In an effort to ensure inclusivity, the main stage will feature sign language interpreters, and an accessible toilet and changing facility called RevoLOOtion will be available on-site.
The official after-party venue for this year’s Pride is Boom Battle Bar, located at Regents Circus. The party will commence at 7 pm, featuring venue decor, activities, and live entertainment, ensuring a lively celebration into the early hours.
The event’s success relies heavily on the support of sponsors and volunteers who generously contribute their time over the weekend. If you are available to assist on Saturday, 12th August, please reach out to volunteer@swindonwiltshirepride.co.uk.
To effectively manage capacity, organisers kindly request all attendees to obtain free tickets for the march, picnic, and after-party from www.swindonwiltshirepride.co.uk.
