Staff at Wilko stores across the country, including Swindon are facing job losses as the retailer starts a redundancy consultation process.
Bosses at the GMB Union have compiled a list of all the stores that are affected which was handed to Staffordshire Live.
National GMB Union officer Roger Jenkins also warned Wilko that members who had kept the stores running throughout the national lockdowns in the last twelve months would be balloted on strike action after it emerged management would be immune from controversial plans to cut sick pay.
Currently Wilko employees are entitled to up to four occasions of sickness on company sick pay before reverting to the first three days of sick leave unpaid.
But from the February 1st, if a Wilko employee has a single day of sickness they will have no further entitlement to company sick pay for the next 12 months.
Mr Jenkins said: “What’s come to light in the last couple of days is all management grades are excluded from the drop in sick pay and, on top of that, we have a redundancies situation at 30 stores and Wilko has just given a bonus to all levels of management.
“Loyal Wilko workers have grafted throughout this pandemic – putting themselves and their families at risk to keep stores open.
“Along with other retail workers, they’ve had to deal with a lack of social distancing, increased threats and abuse from customers.
“Wilko should be rewarding their commitment – but instead they’ve threatened to slash their sickness benefit.
“Wilko should hang their heads in shame.
