A 19-year-old man from Swindon has been sentenced to more than two years in prison after being caught dealing crack cocaine.
Kydon Davis, of Wheatcroft Way, was arrested on 22nd February at a property in Walcot, which he was suspected of using as part of a “cuckooing” operation.
When police raided the address, they found multiple mobile phones, drug-related paraphernalia, a Rambo-style knife, and a significant amount of cash. Officers also discovered a large quantity of crack cocaine, which Davis had attempted to dispose of by flushing it down the toilet.
Davis had already been under investigation by Wiltshire Police’s Serious Youth and Gang Violence unit prior to his arrest. Following his capture, the vulnerable occupants of the property were safeguarded, and Davis was charged with several offences.
In a hearing at Swindon Crown Court on 13th August, Davis pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of crack cocaine between December 2023 and February 2024. He also admitted to possessing criminal property, namely £2,115 in cash. He was subsequently sentenced to two years and four months in prison.
PC Eddy, part of the Serious Youth and Gang Violence team, commented on the case, saying, “Through our investigation, we were able to establish that Davis was running a class A drug line in Swindon, distributing significant amounts of cocaine to vulnerable people around the town. I’m pleased he is now being held to account for his actions and faces a term behind bars.”
PC Eddy also highlighted the wider implications of drug activity in the community, noting, “We know the huge impact and harm that drugs cause within our communities, from the impact on users and their family and friends to the associated crime and antisocial behaviour affecting neighbours and the wider community.”
