Excitement filled the air as students from a Swindon primary school celebrated their achievements after participating in a nationwide Maths and English Challenge.
Lainesmead Primary School in Old Walcot proudly honored 51 children with awards for their exceptional performance in the DoodleLearning Spring Challenge. This popular digital learning event experienced its most successful year to date, attracting over 16,000 participants from across the UK.
The DoodleLearning Spring Challenge serves as a motivational tool, encouraging children to engage in a few minutes of daily practice in Maths and English using Doodle’s innovative learning apps. As part of the Discovery Education family of services, DoodleMaths and DoodleEnglish have been designed for convenient use both at home and in the classroom, encouraging little and often learning. Leveraging the latest advancements in educational technology, these apps transform the learning experience into an enjoyable adventure, boosting children’s confidence along the way.
Over 600 primary schools participated in this year’s challenge, utilizing DoodleMaths and DoodleEnglish to achieve personalised learning goals throughout the month of April. Those who completed the challenge were rewarded with special certificates and badges, presented by their teachers during a special ceremony held at the school this week.
Nicole Deacon-Willis, a teacher at Lainesmead Primary School, expressed her pride in the students’ accomplishments, saying: “We are so proud of our Lainesmead pupils who have completed the Doodle Spring Challenges! Some children even completed both the Maths and English Challenges. The Challenges provide children with the opportunity to rehearse and revisit key learning skills from the comfort of their home.
“We love Doodle for its child-friendly setup – it’s a great tool for developing the independence of our learners both at home and in school. When used for short bursts every day it’s a fantastic to boost confidence in Maths and times tables, as well as English and spelling.”
