Public consultations are to be held on plans to introduce 20mph zones in a number of residential areas of Swindon.
The council has revealed the first 8 ‘zones’ in which it wants to cut speed limits in an effort to minimise the risk of collisions and to make sure that if collisions do occur, the impacts are unlikely to result in death or serious injury.
The areas under consultation are:
- Tismeads Crescent/Glenwood Close/Riverdale Close
- Delamere Drive (Stratton)
- Wanborough (The Beanlands)
- Wanborough (High Street)
- Rodbourne Green
- Abbey View (Moredon)
- Old Shaw Lane
- Queensfield (Stratton)
Some of the areas have been added to the consultation after requests were submitted to the Council by local Ward Councillors, on behalf of the local community.
Between February 6th and 27th, the council will be consulting on the first 8 zones. More information about these zones and how local people can provide feedback can be found at https://www.swindon.gov.uk/info/20135/traffic_management/657/traffic_regulation_orders_tros/2
