Swindon Residents Encouraged to Shape Future Political Map

As Swindon Borough Council embarks on a journey to redraw its political map, residents are urged to voice their opinions and help shape the future of their local governance.

The Local Government Boundary Commission has proposed new boundaries for council divisions, aiming to ensure fair representation and effective council operation. Now, Swindonians have less than two weeks to contribute to the initial public consultation on communities running until March 18th, 2024.

“We want people in Swindon to help us,” expressed the Commission. “Our goal is to create electoral arrangements that truly reflect our communities while remaining accessible and understandable to all.”

The Commission has set up a dedicated section on its website where residents can provide feedback on electoral division names and boundaries. Additionally, individuals can share their views via email at reviews@lgbce.org.uk.

The consultation marks a crucial step in the democratic process, allowing residents to have a direct impact on their local governance structure. By engaging in this consultation, Swindon residents can ensure that their voices are heard and that future council divisions accurately represent their communities.
