All primary schools in Swindon will reopen for the start of the new term next week despite another U-turn from the government this evening.
Education Secretary Gavin Williamson had announced earlier in this week that ‘the majority’ of primary schools would open with a few in the worst Covid affected areas to remain closed.
The announcement this evening, just three days before the new term starts, is that ALL primary schools in London will remain closed.
This news comes as plans are being drawn up by the Department for Education (DfE) for secondary school pupils and teachers to be required to wear face coverings in the classroom when they return later this month.
