Tree Nightclub in Hoopers Place Old Town will not be closing its doors despite recent speculation after an agreement between the clubs owners and the police was agreed at a meeting earlier today.
Speaking on Facebook, Alan Mok the licensee of Rendezvous and the Tree Nightclub said “We are really pleased to have reached an agreement with the police, we are also grateful to the licensing authority for accepting our agreement. This means we will not be closing as widely speculated.
Since we opened our doors 200,000 people have come in to eat, drink and dance in this beautiful listed building. We are committed to continue to improve our operation in partnership with the police and to provide a first class, safe and welcoming environment. Thank you for all your continuing support.”
The club has been open since last August and as part of the agreement will see the capacity reduced along with a number of other conditions relating to the way customers are asked to produce ID and the levels of staffing.
