The UK’s favourite variety talent show returned to ITV yesterday evening with a magician who had the audience gasping and a dog act like you have never seen before.
Now in its 14th series, the multi-award-winning talent show is back with even more amazing, surprising and jaw-dropping acts, all vying to impress the judges and secure their place in the live semi-finals, which will be taking place later in the year.
One act that is going to be of interest to The Swindonian readers is local schoolgirl Fayth Ifil.
Fayth, 11, daughter of ex- Swindon Town favourite Jerel, will set out to wow the judges for the chance to win the £250,000 prize and perform to royalty at the prestigious Royal variety Performance in London.
Fayth, from Swindon, has starred in the West End as a young Tina Turner in the musical based on the singer’s life and also Tomika in School of Rock.
The auditions were filmed in front of a live audience pre-coronavirus and it is understood that the live finals will not take place until such time the current isolation restrictions are lifted.
An ITV spokesman confirming: “We have been working with the brilliant production teams at Thames and Syco to find a way of making the live finals work, which were due to be broadcast at the end of May.
“However, in light of the latest government health guidelines and in line with our priority of safeguarding the well-being of everyone involved in our programmes, production of the live shows cannot go ahead as planned.
“The live finals will therefore be broadcast later in the year.”
