Swindon Photographic Society Launches First Ever Photographic Scavenger Hunt

The Swindon Photographic Society is set to host its first-ever Photographic Scavenger Hunt in Swindon Town Centre on Saturday, 17th August 2024.

This exciting new event, open to both members and non-members, promises to combine creativity with a touch of friendly competition.

Participants will need to follow cryptic clues and snap their answers before the 3pm deadline. The first club member and non-member to correctly identify the ‘ringer’ and solve the photo clue will each win 10% off a year’s membership to the Swindon Photographic Society. However, the event is more about fun than fierce rivalry, with the organisers emphasising the joy of photography as the main goal.

Your Holiday Starts Now

Alongside the scavenger hunt, the Society will be based at the Swindon Hub in The Parade (or just outside if the weather allows), offering basic photography lessons for anyone keen to improve their skills. It’s an open invitation for photography enthusiasts of all levels, from seasoned professionals to those simply snapping away on their smartphones.

The Swindon Photographic Society, which has just celebrated its 125th year, continues to evolve alongside the ever-changing technology of photography. While cameras have moved from glass plates to digital sensors and mobile phones, the Society’s core values remain the same: helping photographers improve their craft and enjoy their passion.

With a wealth of resources, including 10 monthly meetings, special interest groups (SIGs), and competitions, the Society is committed to promoting and enhancing the art of photography in Swindon. Members are invited to get involved with landscape, portrait, street, and analogue photography groups, making it a welcoming environment for both beginners and experienced photographers alike.

For more details on how to participate in the scavenger hunt or to learn more about the Society, pop by the Swindon Hub this Saturday or visit the Society’s website.
