Road works update

Delay and congestion is to be found on a number of major thoroughfares over the coming week.

Firstly, from today and lasting until Friday 24th March, Thames Water will be repairing service pipes in the High Street and between tomorrow and Monday 27th will be doing the same in Devizes Road.

Both areas of work will be subject to signal control but it looks like for the next week central Old Town, particularly its business hub will be best avoided if at all possible.

Also starting today and continuing until 28th March, Queens Drive will be subject to intermittent road closure. Resurfacing work between The Magic Roundabout and Drakes Way Roundabout will see the road closed to through traffic between 20.00 and 06.00 with access only to necessary services such as business, school and The Ambulance Station.

Finally, from tomorrow and lasting until Tuesday 28th March, there will be two-way signal control along Wootton Bassett Road as Thames Water undertake essential pipe repairs.

It looks as if central Swindon is going to be a tricky place for drivers for the next week.
