A new week brings a whole new set of delays on the roads due to various improvements and repairs. There are five areas which you might wish to avoid.
Today Wanborough Road begins 8 days of resurfacing work between Rotten Row and Horpit Junction. Work will take place between 0800 and 1800 and the road is likely to be closed for much of that time. Work is expected to end on 19th April.
In Oxford Road, Stratton St Margaret work will be in operation today by Swindon Borough Council to repair gully covers. This will result in two-way signal control whilst the work is carried out.
As of tomorrow, three areas will be subjected to two days of delays (12th -13th April) and traffic flow will be controlled in all cases by multi-way signals.
Bath Road by The Museum and Art Gallery sees BT undertaking cabling work.
Devizes Road near the junction with Bath Road is also affected by the above work.
Victoria Road where it meets Bath Road will also be subjected to congestion for the same reason.
It looks like central Old Town is the place to avoid for a couple of days, if at all possible.
