Raffle prizes needed for Wiltshire Air Ambulance

We all know in normal circumstances, cars can’t fly. But for some very special reasons, ambulances can – they just need to be equipped with helicopter blades first!

Wiltshire Air Ambulance is the pride of Wiltshire, flying to save lives every single day. They can be anywhere in Wiltshire within 11 minutes, and last year they flew to 697 rescue missions.

However, Wiltshire Air Ambulance needs your help. The team are striving to create a new air base in Semington, which will be purpose built, with the latest technology and facilities for their lifesaving crew, aircraft and charity team.

Their goal is to raise £1.25 million to fund the project and to help with this, Wellington Barn have donated the use of their beautiful venue to hold a charity ball.

The event will be held on Saturday 18th March and is already turning out to be a sell-out event, with hundreds of people already signed up to come along.

Sharon Simons, who is organising the event together with Celia Grafton says: ‘we are so bowled over by the support of the local community and their efforts to help us build this much needed base. We are particularly grateful to the team at Wellington Barn for allowing us to use their stunning venue free of charge for our charity ball. It’s going to be an amazing night with music, food and raffle prizes all around!’

As you may know, Wiltshire Air Ambulance relies entirely on charitable donations to keep the helicopters in the air which is why it is so important for the local community to get behind this fantastic team, who are out there literally saving lives every day.

With the charity event set to be such a success, the main challenge now is to gather over 200 raffle prizes for the people attending to win.

Keri Maundrell – the director of Wellington Barn – commented ‘It’s an honour to be able to support a cause so close to home for all of us. We are hoping that with such a beautiful atmosphere and delicious food around them, the guests of the charity ball will enjoy themselves and dig deep to help a worthy cause.’
