With auditions running from 10am until 6pm it gave many the chance to sing for the production team with the hope to bag a place in front of the judges at a further audition in July.
Those auditioning to hopefully follow in the footsteps of Jahmene Douglas came from all backgrounds, Keith Huckfield went along to see how they got on.
