New Year’s Eve was a quiet affair this year as COVID-19 cancelled events and gatherings across the country and as 10million people viewed the London spectacular on BBC One, many Swindonians escaped to their gardens to say goodbye to 2020 and mark the start of 2021 – with a show of their own!
Our video below from reader Daniel Adams, shows parts of Swindon ablaze with colour as people set off fireworks at midnight to celebrate the arrival of 2021.
Many personal fireworks displays could be seen over Swindon with fireworks being set off throughout the night.
However, the evening peaked at midnight which is when Mr Adams video caught this colourful display.
It was taken from the North of Swindon looking towards the Town Centre. Midnight is about 2 minutes in.
