Swindon Martial Arts & Fitness Centre based in Groundwell Business Park, held their summer open day to raise funds for the local foodbank and also one of their students who lost his parents at a young age and is deserving of a much needed holiday.
With the support of students, family and friends, the martial arts club managed to raise a massive £3567 on the day with a bouncy castle, craft stores, live music and an opportunity for the students to slime their coaches.
Losing both of his parents at the age of 13 Matthew is now being looked after by his older brother Calum who at just 21 himself is currently undergoing a lengthy court process in order to become his legal guardian.
Of the funds raised on the day, £3000 is being given to the brothers to enable them to ‘spend it on a holiday or something fun,’ the remaining £567 was then used for a grocery shopping spree and was donated to the local charity bank.
“We managed to raise a massive £3567 thanks to all of your help, contributions and support!”
