Swindon man offers to help the elderly go shopping during stores ‘elderly hour’

A Swindon man with a colourful past is upset after witnessing the elderly struggling to get their weekly shop in supermarkets stripped bare that he is on a mission to help make sure older residents have the opportunity to pick-up necessary supplies.

Jason Ranford of M4 Party Buses, known locally for mistakes he has made in his past is offering up his company mini-buses this week to take the elderly and vulnerable shopping at. O cost to themselves during the recently announced elderly hour at The Food Warehouse.

He said: “I’m offering to provide the transport to take people shopping because there’s a lot of vulnerable people who can’t get out to get the essential bits they need.

”My past has been a little colourful and I am really sorry for all the things I have done wrong.

“Whilst being in prison I lost my grandad, burying him just last week on the anniversary of my Nans funeral. I know they would of needed help if they were still here and I’m lucky enough to be in a situation to be able to offer help to people.

“I can’t bear to see people go without the essentials they need to survive when it’s hard enough for them to survive as it is.”

The Food Warehouse in Rodbourne have announced they will be opening between 8-9am from Wednesday 18th March for the elderly and vulnerable to shop.

Mr Ranford is offering to take people shopping between these hours on both Thursday 19th and Friday 20th, giving shoppers the chance to visit Lidl and Home Bargains in the same retail park to ensure they can pick up the bits the need through any self-isolation.

If you would like to arrange a free pick up please contact M4 Buses on 07765 012591.
