Swindon Man Jailed for Two Years Following Major Cannabis Seizure

A 23-year-old Swindon man has been sentenced to two years in prison after being caught with nearly 10kg of cannabis and a significant amount of cash in his home. Kurtis Knee, of Keswick Road, Park South, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on 14th October, following his guilty plea to possession with intent to supply cannabis and possessing criminal property.

On 31st July, local officers executed a planned warrant at Knee’s property, uncovering nearly 10kg of cannabis, suspected to be ready for distribution. The drugs, valued at up to £100,000 if sold in small quantities, were found alongside £4,500 in cash and luxury items, including designer clothing and trainers worth nearly £5,700.

PC Thompson, speaking after the sentencing, commented on the wider dangers of the drug trade: “Many see cannabis as a low-level offence, but the supply chain is high risk, involving young people who are drawn into a dangerous world of dealing. Dealers often use illegal electric bikes, and are known to carry weapons such as zombie knives. This creates a violent undercurrent in communities, and it’s not just the dealers at risk – it can impact anyone involved or even living near these operations.”

Inspector David Tippetts highlighted the importance of community action, saying: “This was a significant seizure from an individual who continued to deal despite previous convictions. Our neighbourhood teams are always ready to act on information from the public, and this case demonstrates our commitment to reducing the supply of controlled drugs in Swindon.”
