Swindon Man Jailed After Admitting to Making Indecent Images of Children

A man from Stratton St Margaret has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to making indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornographic content involving animals.

Adrian Parker, 53, of Cameron Close, appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Friday 11 April where he admitted to three counts of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children, and one count relating to the possession of extreme pornographic images.

The offences date back to August 2024 and were investigated by Wiltshire Police’s Child Internet Exploitation Team (CIET).

Parker is already serving a 33-month sentence for arranging to commit a child sex offence, following a separate conviction towards the end of last year.

Alongside his new prison term, Parker has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a stringent Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO). His seized mobile phone and tablet will be destroyed as part of a Destruction of Electronic Property Order (DEPO).

CIET Investigator Beccy Scott said:

“Parker is a dangerous man with a clear sexual preoccupation with prepubescent children, and I welcome this further custodial sentence.

Online offending of this nature is not a victimless crime. Every single child in these images is a victim of sexual exploitation, and offenders like Parker fuel the demand for such horrific content.”

She also confirmed that Parker will continue to be monitored indefinitely upon release, to manage his risk to the public.

Wiltshire Police are encouraging anyone who feels they are at risk of offending to seek professional help. Agencies like the Lucy Faithfull Foundation work to prevent potential harm before it occurs.

Members of the public with concerns around child sexual abuse, whether regarding another person or suspicious activity, are urged to report it either via the police non-emergency line 101 or by visiting Wiltshire Police’s dedicated page on child sexual exploitation: Child sexual exploitation | Wiltshire Police
