Swindon Cycle Campaign Offers Extra Children’s Learn to Ride Sessions This Summer

In response to overwhelming demand, the Swindon Cycle Campaign has successfully secured funding to organise additional free Learn to Cycle sessions for children during the upcoming summer holidays.

Recognising the importance of cycling as a life skill and a means of transportation, the Swindon Cycle Campaign aims to provide children with the necessary guidance and training to become proficient cyclists.

Learn to Cycle sessions cater specifically to children of pre-school and primary school age who have not yet acquired the ability to cycle without stabilisers. For children who can already cycle independently, the campaign offers cycle confidence sessions to enhance their existing skills.

The campaign has already assisted over 100 adults and children in mastering the art of cycling, fostering confidence on two wheels.

Swindon Cycle Campaign has enlisted the expertise of two highly skilled local cycle coaches, Paul Ashman, and Jen Purcell, to conduct these specialised training sessions.

With their extensive knowledge and experience, Ashman and Purcell will provide comprehensive support to children, ensuring they develop confidence and proficiency on two wheels.

The sessions, which last approximately 1.5 hours, offer a structured curriculum tailored to the needs of young learners.

Additional support will also be available upon request, ensuring that every child receives the assistance they require.

The following dates have been scheduled for the free children’s sessions:

  • Children’s Learn to Ride: August 14, 2023; August 15, 2023; August 16, 2023
  • Children’s Cycle Confidence/Skills: August 15, 2023; August 16, 2023

Bookings are essential to guarantee a spot, as spaces may be limited due to popular demand.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to reserve a place on this form promptly to ensure their child’s participation.
