Swindon Cricket Club gears up for sparkling Bonfire & Fireworks Night

Swindon Cricket Club is preparing to light up the sky once again with its hugely popular Bonfire & Fireworks Night on Saturday 8 November.

A highlight in the town’s autumn calendar, the family-friendly evening promises a packed programme of entertainment, food and community spirit – all in support of the club and local charity Barnardo’s.

From 5pm, visitors can soak up the atmosphere with music from the pavilion DJ, while children can enjoy small funfair rides, sweet treats from Scarrots Circus, and roaming performances from stilt walkers and The Bubble Master.

Food will be provided by local favourites Gurt Wings, Caribbean Kitchen and the SCC Hotdog Stand, with the bar serving alcoholic, soft and hot drinks throughout the evening.

The night’s main attraction will see the bonfire lit before a spectacular fireworks display by Distant Thunder. While exact timings will be confirmed on the night for safety reasons, organisers assure guests it will follow the tried-and-tested rhythm of previous years.

As the fireworks fade, the grounds will remain open, offering a more relaxed bonfire atmosphere for those wishing to linger.

“This event sells out every year, so we’re encouraging everyone to book their tickets as soon as possible – there will be no sales on the door,” said a club spokesperson.

All funds raised will go towards developing Swindon Cricket Club, with a donation made to Barnardo’s in memory of a much-loved club stalwart who passed away earlier this year.
