A man who ran a Swindon drugs line has been jailed for three years and seven months thanks to a proactive police operation in the town.
Officers from the Fortitude team were investigating the “CJ line” as part of their enquiries into the supply of crack cocaine and heroin in Swindon.
During last summer they identified Amin Jama as one of the key figures behind this drug dealing enterprise, and in October they executed a warrant at his address in Drakes Way.
They seized mobile phones, cash and drugs paraphernalia.
Jama, 25, previously of Drakes Way but now residing at HMP Bristol, had previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession of criminal property.
This week (21/06) he appeared at Salisbury Crown Court and was jailed for a total of three years and seven months.
PC Craig Head, from the Fortitude team, said: “Our team is working relentlessly in Swindon to investigate, target and apprehend those who deal Class A drugs.
“We know the impact this criminal activity has on our town, and we will continue to do everything we can to disrupt their operations.
“The work we are doing is getting illegal drugs off our streets and ensuring the dealers face justice, but we cannot do this without the general public acting as our eyes and ears.
