In a bid to assist local families facing challenges, a total of 426 slow cookers, 85 health grills, and 24 kettles have been provided by Swindon Borough Council since last summer.
This initiative, funded through a segment of the Household Support Fund, aims to alleviate the financial burden on households, addressing the costs associated with food, energy, and other essential needs.
The Government, recognising the importance of community well-being, allocated funds to empower local authorities in supporting households. From this fund, £13,100 was earmarked to aid 83 residents in meeting their essential needs this year.
For those experiencing financial strain and struggling to cover necessities, seeking assistance from the Household Support Fund is a viable option.
The fund has proven instrumental in providing essential household items to those who require support.
In times of crisis, residents facing immediate needs such as food, heating, or other essentials can turn to the Emergency Assistance Fund.
To date, £17,520 has been utilised to aid 182 residents in meeting emergency costs, underscoring the significance of community support during challenging times.
