The Summer Reading Challenge, an annual tradition in libraries since first launching in 1999, is all about children enjoying reading throughout the summer holidays – and it’s back!
Over 700,000 children take part from across the UK; developing reading skills, reading for pleasure and visiting their local libraries.
Running from now until Saturday 10 September, it’s completely free to join in and adults can register a child to take part and request a Challenge Pack containing stickers and other goodies to reward your child every time they complete a reading task throughout the summer.
Children just need to be a Swindon Libraries member – which is also free. Staff in any of Swindon’s 13 libraries can help children and families join or they can join online.
They can register for the Challenge in any Swindon library and collect a free goodie pack for a fun summer of reading (while stocks last).
