Year 11 students at Ridgeway School & Sixth Form College celebrated the results of their hard work with an impressive set of GCSE examination results.

Students matched high expectations as over 38% of all grades were awarded at grade 7 or higher; 20 students achieved grade 7s or above across every subject.
Sophie Walker, Ifra Syed, Ella Cottle, Aidan Vallender, Hannah Spackman, Precious Emmanuel, Jamie Sheppard, Yashvi Patel, Anna Wright, Ben Wigley, and Ewan Ridge deserve a special mention, as they achieved five or more grade 9s. Lucy Walker, secured the top grade in every one of her GCSEs – to have done so in all 9 subjects is a phenomenal achievement.
61% of Year 11 students achieved a grade 5 or better in English and Mathematics, and an impressive 21 % of students achieved a grade 7 or higher in both English and Mathematics.

Principal, Christopher Belli said, “Following two years of disrupted learning this was the first year of the reintroduction of externally assessed GCSEs and it is important that we remember this as we pay tribute this morning to all of our students, their families and the staff who have supported them in achieving these fabulous outcomes!
“Nothing is more gratifying than seeing a young person achieve their personal best.
“Impressive results are achieved through impressive effort – it is that, above all else, that we celebrate today.”
“Our congratulations go to each and every one of our Year 11 students; we are proud of the achievements of each and every one of you. Great things now await you as you move onto the next exciting steps of your educational journey and we look forward to welcoming many of you back into R6 in September.”
