Recognising the challenges faced by schools over the past few years, George Croxford finished by saying, “As a Trust we are proud of the work of all our students and all our staff. We continue to deliver Excellence in Education through compassion, respect and ambition!”

Anita Ellis, headteacher at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy, said she and her colleagues are exceptionally pleased with the outcomes achieved by their Year 11 students.

“We are so proud of their efforts and their abilities to manage and take control of a very challenging period of time,” said Mrs Ellis.

“This morning has been so lovely, to meet and greet and share the celebrations face to face with our students and their parents. We are also relieved that they can now take their next steps into A Levels, BTECs, Apprenticeships or other training and work-related courses. We wish them the best of luck in their choices and we look forward to welcoming those who will be attending Royal Wootton Bassett Sixth Form next week.”

Mari Roberts, deputy headteacher, said: “Once again, our students have done themselves and our school proud. These results are a cumulation of five years of study, hard work and resilience of learning through Covid conditions and interruptions.

“As a school we would like to recognize the outstanding work of our teachers, support staff and our parents in supporting this year’s Year 11 students. We would like to wish all of our leavers the very best for their next steps and we look forward to hearing of their future successes.”

Chloe Penman, Head of Year 11, agreed that the students have worked exceptionally hard and shown resilience throughout a very challenging period.

“I wish our students every success in their futures and their next steps. I would like to make a special mention to Sarah Javaid who achieved 8 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s; Ethan Franklin who achieved 8 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s and a Distinction; and Rhiannon Caple, Tane Castle, Luke Tomlinson, Sam Hartland, Alisha Lowry and Nell Dowdeswell.

“Even though I can only mention a few names there are many more successes and we are extremely proud of all the Year 11 students.”
