During Armed Forces Week 2023, South Swindon MP Sir Robert Buckland joined volunteers from the charity Help for Heroes for a collection at the Tesco Extra Store in Ocotal Way.
In recognition of their valuable work in supporting the Armed Forces community, Sir Robert has also chosen Help for Heroes as his local charity of the week.
Transitioning from a military career to civilian life can present numerous challenges, particularly if it has been prematurely cut short due to illness or injury. Help for Heroes is dedicated to equipping individuals with the skills, confidence, and knowledge necessary to thrive in the civilian world.
Beyond their support services, Help for Heroes organises sporting and social activities nationwide to combat loneliness and isolation among veterans. They also provide financial grants to assist individuals in overcoming obstacles stemming from illness and injury.
