As we solemnly observe Remembrance Day this week, Sir Robert Buckland MP designates the Royal British Legion as his chosen charity of the week.
In Swindon, our community has a proud tradition of supporting the armed forces, including both active-duty members and a substantial number of local veterans.
The Royal British Legion stands as the largest Armed Forces charity in the country, dedicated to providing lifelong support for the Armed Forces community. This encompasses serving men and women, veterans, and their families, acknowledging the sacrifices made in the service of our nation.
The Royal British Legion Field of Remembrance in Swindon was officially opened with a special service this week. Located at Lydiard Park, this field is one of six across the UK adorned with over 3,500 commemorative markers, each bearing a personal message to someone who has made the ultimate sacrifice.
The members of the Armed Forces community contribute significantly to the service of our country, making immense sacrifices. Sir Robert Buckland expresses pride in supporting the Royal British Legion’s commendable work, honouring the memory of the fallen. He encourages everyone to wear their Poppy.
