£2 billion of extra funding over the next two years has been promised for primary and secondary schools in England, with South Swindon schools receiving £3,180,814, according to Sir Robert Buckland MP.
This funding will provide every state school in England with extra cash, with the average primary school receiving £35,000 and the average secondary school receiving £200,000.
The total school budget for 2024-2025 will be £58.8 billion, with school funding set to increase at a faster rate than forecast inflation for 2023-2024 and 2024-2025.
Schools have already received their first payment and will have the flexibility to allocate the funds as they see fit, including for teacher salary increases and hiring teaching assistants.
The additional £2 billion will go towards increasing Pupil Premium funding rates by five percent in 2023-2024. In addition, the Education Secretary’s 4.5 percent pay offer for teachers next year, along with a £1,000 one-off payment, is fully funded with the extra £620 million in funding provided.
Commenting, Sir Robert Buckland said: “I am committed to delivering on our community’s priorities, including encouraging investment in our schools to support young people to reach their full potential.
“That is why I welcome £3,180,814 in extra funding for schools here in South Swindon from the Conservative Government, as part of £2 billion in extra school funding this year and next across England, delivering the highest real terms spending on schools in history.
“This Conservative Government is committed to providing opportunity for all – wherever they come from and whatever their background.”
