Service holds engagement event for potential contractors

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is holding a special supplier engagement event next month to encourage local businesses to do work within its estate.

The session will be held from 10am to 12noon on Friday 18th November, hosted at Service HQ, Five Rivers Health & Wellbeing Centre, Hulse Road, Salisbury, SP1 3NR.

It will be an opportunity for potential estates contractors to discuss the type of work that is available, and to understand how they can take part in ‘request for quote’ and ‘invitation to tender’ processes.

During the session, there will be explanations of:

  • the types of work DWFRS tenders for
  • the DWFRS estate
  • the procurement system and process
  • project delivery
  • contract management and invoicing

The Service is holding this engagement event to help businesses understand the procurement process, which in turn will help the right contractors to be found for the different services required.

Jerry Welch, Property Services Manager, said: “We have a variety of works that need to be undertaken in our premises on a regular basis, including electrics, plumbing, structural maintenance and grounds work. We’re keen to talk to local contractors, help them understand our processes, and work with them to ensure our buildings remain safe for our staff and the community.”

To book a place, you can contact registrations@dwfire.org.uk – due to limited space, attendance is limited to one representative per organisation.
