Sainsbury’s join Morrisons in banning non mask wearers from stores

Sainsbury’s have announced they will be enforcing the wearing of masks in all its stores, hours after Morrisons made the same decision.

The supermarket have confirmed trained security guards will be stationed at shop entrances.

It has also confirmed that the security guards will be actively challenging non-mask wearing customers and those shopping in groups.

Chief executive Simon Roberts said: “I’ve spent a lot of time in our stores reviewing the latest situation over the last few days and on behalf of all my colleagues, I am asking our customers to help us keep everyone safe.

“The vast majority of customers are shopping safely, but I have also seen some customers trying to shop without a mask and shopping in larger family groups.

“Please help us to keep all our colleagues and customers safe by always wearing a mask and by shopping alone. Everyone’s care and consideration matters now more than ever.”

  1. I can’t believe that you are going to ban people who have the right to go shopping where it is safe and have exempt cards making it differcult wearing mask I am one of these people who can’t wear a face mask

    • The problem is that too many people cry wolf, which means that people which genuinely can’t wear a mask are not believed.
Only way to solve that, would be to introduce some medical vetting certification, not an exemption card that anyone can download.
