Wiltshire Police are urging anyone with information to come forward after a robbery took place near Swindon train station.
The incident occurred between approximately 3.45pm and 4pm on June 4th, when a 19-year-old man was cycling along Sheppard Street after passing the station. He was intercepted by two individuals at the intersection of East Street and London Street.
According to reports, the two men aggressively demanded that the victim dismount his bike and handover both his bicycle and mobile phone.
In an alarming turn of events, the victim was subjected to physical assault, being kicked and repeatedly punched in the face.
Following the assault, the assailants fled the scene with the stolen items—a distinctive Archie Wilkinson bike with a white frame and black handlebars, along with the victim’s mobile phone.
Police have provided descriptions of the suspects involved. The primary suspect is described as a white male, standing approximately 6 feet 4 inches tall, aged between 30 and 40, with long dark hair and a beard. He was wearing a green jacket at the time of the incident.
The second suspect is described as male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a shaved head, and a long dark beard, and was clad in a white coat adorned with blue and red stripes.
Police believe that several people were in the area when the incident occurred including a member of the public who intervened and shouted at the suspects, even mentioning the intention to contact the police.
In light of the incident, Wiltshire Police are urging any witnesses to step forward and assist with their ongoing investigation.
