Rider arrested after testing positive for cannabis and cocaine while carrying passenger

The rider of a moped has been arrested after testing positive for cocaine and cannabis while carrying a passenger whilst displaying L Plates.

The bike in the picture was seen travelling through Swindon with a pillion passenger yesterday afternoon.

After being stopped a roadside drugs swab revealed he’d been taking cocaine and cannabis.

Wilts Specialist Ops tweeted “Spotted the pillion with the L plate on display today in Swindon.”

“The sock choice of the rider got us on the subject of gardening and some exotic herb was produced along with a positive line for cannabis.”

Drug driving carries a minimum one-year driving ban as well as an unlimited fine and up to six months in prison.

The conviction remains on the offender’s licence for 11 years.
