Police are appealing for witnesses after a string of burglaries took place in the early hours of 27th March in the Stratton St Margaret area of Swindon.
Between 4.49am and 6.10am, a total of seven offences were reported across the Gayton Way and Weedon Road neighbourhoods. Various items were taken, including an angle grinder, bungee cords, and gardening equipment.
Officers believe the incidents may be linked and are searching for two men seen in the vicinity around the time of the break-ins. Both individuals were described as white, dressed in black, and riding bicycles. One of the men had his face covered and was carrying a rucksack. He is thought to be the person captured on CCTV during one of the reported incidents.
Police have released an image from the footage, acknowledging that the individual may not be easily identifiable, but hope someone in the area may have seen something useful.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We’re keen to hear from anyone who may have spotted suspicious activity or who has home CCTV or doorbell footage around that time. Even a small detail could help piece together a clearer picture of what happened.”
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting reference 54250037306. Alternatively, if you prefer to remain anonymous, you can report through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
The local community is being asked to remain vigilant and to report any further unusual activity promptly, especially in the early morning hours.
