Swindon Borough Council is encouraging residents to embrace the convenience of their new online Council Tax account, where thousands have already registered to streamline their interactions with the council.
Through this initiative, the Council aims to enhance the overall experience for residents while contributing to environmental sustainability and cost-effective service delivery.
It’s important to note that even if residents have previously opted for paperless billing, registering for a new Council Tax account is necessary to maintain this preference. This demonstrates the Council’s commitment to providing an updated and secure platform for residents.
For the approximately 50,000 residents who have previously shared their email addresses, an invitation to register for the new account will be sent by the end of January. The email will originate from the address swindon.revenues.and.benefits@notifications.service.gov.uk, ensuring residents can confidently identify official communications.
Alternatively, residents can proactively register for their new Council Tax account by visiting the official Swindon Borough Council website.
To complete the registration process, individuals will need their Council Tax account number (available on last year’s bill) and will be required to answer a few security questions. Any inquiries or concerns can be addressed by contacting the Council Tax office at 0345 302 2316.
By embracing digital solutions, the Council aims to not only enhance efficiency but also support those who may face challenges with online interactions or payment processes.
This move towards a more streamlined system also frees up valuable time and resources, allowing the Council to extend assistance to residents who may require additional support.
