The girl sustained injuries to her head, face and arm. When the girl screamed out, the men ran off.

PC Gary Vickery said: “This was a really nasty and unprovoked attack. We appealed for information about this incident earlier this month but unfortunately, haven’t received any information from the public – we are sure someone must have seen something as it happened in a residential area in the middle of the morning.

“The two suspects are described as white, and both had dark hair and were approximately 5 ft 11 inches tall. One of the men was wearing a white hoody and black trainers.  The victim was wearing a navy blue scarf.

“Maybe you didn’t witness the assault itself, but you saw two men matching this description running around the area? Or maybe you saw the 17-year-old victim after the incident? Any information you have could really help our investigation.

“This young woman has understandably been really affected by this incident and we are keen to identify those responsible.”
