Rail strikes cancelled as new pay offer made by train companies

The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (commonly known as the RMT) has suspended the upcoming strikes planned for March and April after receiving a new pay offer from Network Rail.

Union members had been due to walk out on March 16th, 18th, 30th and April 1st in their long-running dispute over pay and working conditions.

The strikes were called off just hours after the union were told to put the latest pay offer to of its members for them to vote on, or it would be taken off the table altogether.
