Discount store Poundland have announced that all of their staff will receive an extra week’s holiday in recognition of their hard work allowing around 700 stores to remain open during the coronavirus outbreak.
Classed as an essential retailer Poundland have only closed 100 stores, situated within shopping centres or in close proximity to another.
Managing Director Barry Williams has also confirmed the staff discount has been doubled and stores will be closed on Boxing Day this year to allow staff extra time with their families.
