Wiltshire Police are re-issuing our appeal for witnesses following a serious assault on a teenager in Swindon earlier this month.
Just after midnight on Thursday 4 March, a 19-year-old man suffered serious injuries following an attack in Wolsely Avenue, Park South.
The victim was chased by a group of males before being attacked with machetes, and he suffered life-changing injuries which are likely to have a long term impact.
Police issued a witness appeal the following day and our enquiries are ongoing but are continuing to urge anyone with information to come forward.
At this stage, no arrests have been made.
Detective Sergeant Craig Rathbone, from Swindon CID, said: “This was a very violent and serious attack which has had a huge impact on the man, his family and also the local community.
“It is vitally important that we hear from anyone who may have information about this incident.
“We are also asking local residents to check any working CCTV cameras and we are urging anyone who was driving in the area at the time to check their dashcam footage for anything that might assist in identifying those involved.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information about who might be responsible is asked to contact Det Sgt Craig Rathbone through the non-emergency telephone number 101, referencing 54210020649. Alternatively, they can report anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
