Swindon Police were called out to deal with a number of cars who had gathered for a ‘Car Meet’ at the Hawksworth Industrial Estate on Sunday evening.
Residents on the Rodbourne Community Page on Facebook were commenting about how the area sounded like a racetrack and that they were worried it was only a matter of time before there was an accident.
A police spokesperson said ‘Shortly before 7pm yesterday (04/09) we received reports of anti-social behaviour involving about a large number of cars in Hawksworth Trading Estate, Swindon.’
Officers engaged with the group, issuing a number of traffic offence tickets, and continued to monitor their activity over a number of hours to ensure public safety and ensure disruption was kept to a minimum.
No arrests were made.
