Police appeal for information regarding burglary

Officers investigating a burglary at a business in Swindon this morning are appealing for the public’s help.

Police officers were called to the Central Trading Estate in Signal Way at approximately 7.20am today following a report that a window company on the estate had been broken into.

An office at the site had been ransacked and a white Luton van had been stolen from outside.

Enquiries were carried out and officers located the van in Cricklade Road. Inside the van were a large number of items, believed to have been stolen in an unrelated burglary – possibly outside of Wiltshire.

PC Andrew Lacey said: “The items located in the van include loft insulation and CCTV cameras.

“We’ve not received any reports of any other burglaries in the county where these items could potentially have been stolen from. Our enquiries are ongoing and we are working closely with colleagues from other forces to try and identify where these items may have come from.

“If anyone has any information in relation to the burglary in Signal Way which we believe took place overnight, or the items located in the van, please get in touch immediately.”
